June 1, 2026 marked what would have been Marilyn Monroe’s 100th birthday. I fell in love with the magic of Marilyn Monroe at 8 years old when I stumbled upon one of her boudoir spreads in my mom’s art book. I wondered who was this beautiful who’s aura was so timeless and breathtaking. There ensued a lifetime of reading about her and traveling to her Brentwood home (without GPS mind you) to take photos outside her see-thru rodiron gates. As Illinoians, we are lucky to have small ties to the glamourous legend so I’m listing them here for your reading and stalking pleasure. P.S. I will be in LA this June to visit several Marilyn Monroe centennial celebrations and my goal is to photograph a boudoir session or two in 2027 inside the historic Marilyn Cottage (peferably in April 2027) when I stay at The Charlie Hotel in Los Angeles.
